Bradshaw & Beckett Date in 'Every Girl Gets Her Man' at Soho Playhouse

Jouissance Theater is pleased to announce their inaugural production: Emma Sheanshang's dark comedy Every Girl Gets Her Man. Carrie Bradshaw goes on a blind date with Samuel Beckett in this new dark comedy about love, friendship and the redemptive power of delusion. Performances will be at Soho Playhouse's Huron Club, located at 15 Vandam Street. (between 6th Avenue and Varick).  Previews will begin on Monday, March 3 with the opening date scheduled for Sunday March 9, continuing through Sunday, March 30.

"Every Girl Gets Her Man tells the story of five young women on the prowl for the perfect man, and how they get taken for the ride of their lives in the process.  This dark comedy about love, friendship and the redemptive power of delusion will be familiar to fans of 'Sex and the City,' but playwright Emma Sheanshang aims to turn audience expectations inside out with her own brand of absurdity," describe press notes.

The cast for features some of the most attractive young actresses in New York, as well as one handsome young actor to play all the male roles: Danny Bernardy (New York Theatre Workshop, "One Life to Live"), Cass Buggé (FringeNYC, The Kitchen), Amy Flanagan (I Was Tom Cruise at The Connelly Theatre, Sex And The City: The Movie), Anna Margaret Hollyman (Workshop Theatre, Manhattan Rep), Chloe Whiteford (The Bronx is Burning, "Law and Order: SVU"), and Sarah Wilson (New York debut).

Playwright Emma Sheanshang is a writer of plays, novels and short stories.  She has workshopped her writing at Sewanee, Wesleyan and NYU, and her first play received a reading at New Dramatists.  She is the artistic director of Jouissance Theater, New York's newest deconstructive theater company.

Director Michael Melamedoff spent two years as the Literary Manager and Resident Director of Studio 42, a not-for-profit theater company dedicated to emerging playwrights.  His work has been seen in LA and in New York, in venues such The Public Theater, Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Culture Project, and Central Park Summerstage.  His short film, Looking Out, received commendations in Directing and Screenwriting at New York Magazine's First Run Film Festival.

The design team is John Eckert (lighting), Aviva Falk (costumes), Josh Liebert (sound), and Tim McMath (set). Rounding out the production team are Kevin Swanlund (Production Stage Manager), Lily Perlmutter (Stage Manager) and Erika Omundson (ASM).

The schedule for Every Girl Gets Her Man will be Mondays through Wednesdays at 7PM, and Sundays at 7:30PM. There is no performance on Monday March 17, and there is an additional performance on Sunday March 30 at 2PM.  Tickets will be $18 for all performances.  Tickets may be purchased by calling 212-691-1555, or online at  www.sohoplayhouse.com.
