DANCING WITH ABANDON, a Rock 'n' Opera Musical Comedy, receives its world premiere at the 2009 New York International Fringe Festival.
Directed by Jeremy Dobrish, featuring music by Karen Hartman and book and lyrics by Harman & Phil Lebovits, DANCING WITH ABANDON is "a wild and zany love story that touches on the issues of abandonment and the price of fame," according to press notes, which described she show as a "unique fusion of traditional opera and rock."
DANCING WITH ABANDON stars Cindy Benson*, Danny Beiruti, Sandy Binion*, Zachary Clause*, Natalie Ellis*, Jonathan Kline*, Karla Mosley*, and Ronica Reddick*.

The Creative team for the production includes Executive Producer Tome Smedes, Musical Director Mark Hartman, Choreographer Vince Pesce, Casting by Mark Simon, Artwork and Graphics by Francis Keeping, Scenic Design by Jonathan Collins, Costume Design by Brenda Abbandanolo, Sound Design by Michael Eisenberg, Lighting Design by Michael Gottlieb, Production Stage Manager Andrea Joe Martin and Associate Director Amanda Haley.
DANCING WITH ABANDON will run at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street - Rivington & Delancey Streets) from August 23rd to August 29th. The performance schedule is Sunday, 8/23 at Noon, Monday, 8/24 at 9:30pm, Wednesday, 8/26 at 10pm, Thursday, 8/27 at 10:30pm, and Saturday, 8/29 at 10:30pm.
