Barron, Borland And More Lead MTC's SPIRIT CONTROL, Previews 10/7

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are pleased to announce full casting for the Manhattan Theatre Club world premiere production of Beau Willimon's SPIRIT CONTROL, directed by Henry Wishcamper (Graceland, Port Authority).

The cast will feature Mia Barron (Farragut North, The Coast of Utopia), Charles Borland (A Man For All Seasons, A Streetcar Named Desire), Aaron Michael Davies (Off-Broadway debut), Brian Hutchison (From Up Here at MTC, Looped), Maggie Lacey (The Orphans Home Cycle, Dividing The Estate), and Jeremy Sisto ("Law & Order," "Six Feet Under").

Previews for the limited engagement will begin Thursday, October 7 with an opening night of Tuesday, October 26 at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

Adam Wyatt (Sisto) has the perfect family and a perfect record as an air traffic controller. But when the pilot of a small plane suffers a heart attack, Adam must talk a terrified passenger through an emergency landing. What happens next will link him inextricably to a woman he's never met, and set the life he once knew irrevocably adrift. SPIRIT CONTROL is a chilling and mesmerizing look at how we navigate a crisis, and the demons that haunt us long after.

Both Wishcamper, the up-and-coming director who won acclaim for his production of Conor McPherson's Port Authority, and Willimon, the breakout young talent behind the play Farragut North, will be making their Manhattan Theatre Club debuts with SPIRIT CONTROL.

SPIRIT CONTROL features scenic design by Robin Vest, costume design by Jenny Mannis, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Broken Chord and projection design by Aaron Rhyne.

MTC's 2010-2011 Broadway season at the Samuel J. Friedman includes Lee Hall's acclaimed play, THE PITMEN PAINTERS and the world premiere of Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire's GOOD PEOPLE. In addition to SPIRIT CONTROL, MTC's complete Off-Broadway season at New York City Center - Stage I includes THE WHIPPING MAN, New York premiere by Matthew Lopez and directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes; and CARL'S SISTER, the world premiere of the new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Alfred Uhry, based on the book Apples and Oranges by Marie Brenner. The complete season will include a third Broadway production, to be announced.

MAGGIE LACEY (Jess Wyatt) made her Broadway debut as ‘Emily Webb' in Our Town, directed by James Naughton and starring Paul Newman. Other Broadway credits include the Broadway revival of Inherit The Wind directed by Doug Hughes with Christopher Plummer and Brian Dennehy and most recently Dividing The Estate directed by Michael Wilson. Her work Off-Broadway includes the multi-award winning theatrical event Horton Foote's The Orphans Home Cycle at Signature Theatre directed by Michael Wilson, Dividing The Estate at Primary Stages, Big Times which she co-wrote with Mia Barron and Danielle Skraastad and which was directed by Leigh Silverman, the Obie-winning Engaged at Theatre for a New Audience directed by Doug Hughes, Andorra also at TFANA directed by Liviu Ciulei, The Bald Soprano at the Atlantic and Three-Cornered Moon with Keen Co. both directed by Carl Forsman, and The Butterfly Collection at Playwrights Horizons, directed by Bartlett Sher. Her work on television includes the movie of "Our Town" for both Showtime and PBS, "Army Wives," "Law & Order," "All My Children" and "Sex and the City." On film she appears opposite Uma Thurman in Vadim Perlman's The Life Before her Eyes. Lacey earned her MFA from NYU's Graduate Acting Program.

JEREMY SISTO (Adam Wyatt) Sisto made his Broadway debut in the play Festen, a stage adaptation of Thomas Vintenberg's film The Celebration. His other stage credits include Robert Fall's production of Bertolt Brecht's Galileo with Brian Dennehy, Richard Greenberg's Take Me Out at The Geffen Playhouse, (the role earned him a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award), Sidney Kingsley's Dead End at The Ahmanson Theater, and the one-man show Sanguine at Los Angeles' Second Stage. In Television, Sisto was part of the esteemed cast of Alan Ball's award-winning drama series "Six Feet Under" on HBO and recently starred on the NBC series "Law and Order." Sisto starred in the title roles of two widely viewed miniseries, "Jesus" with Gary Oldman and "Julius Caesar" with Christopher Walken and Richard Harris. His partial film credits include Catherine Hardwicke's Thirteen with Holly Hunter and Evan Rachel Wood, Adrienne Shelly's Waitress with Keri Russell, Suicide Kings with Christopher Walken, Larry Kasdan's Grand Canyon with Kevin Kline and Steve Martin, Amy Heckerling's Clueless, Ridley Scott's White Squall with Jeff Bridges, Moonlight and Valentino with Gwenyth Paltrow, and Robert Towne's Without Limits with Billy Crudup. His upcoming projects include Smuggler films Break Point, a dramedy set in the world of professional doubles tennis, which he has developed with writer Gene Hong.
