This summer, the perfect show for Harry Potter fans returns: Potted Potter, starting previews May 30th at the Little Shubert Theatre, takes on the challenge of condensing, or "potting" all seven Harry Potter books into 70 minutes, aided only by multiple costume changes, songs, ridiculous props and a generous helping of Hogwarts magic. The show also invites audiences to engage with a real life game of Quidditch, featuring a unique set of rules.
The show is meant to appeal to both Potter fans and those who have not yet become addicted to J.K. Rowlings series of seven fantasy books. According to the show's reps, "Whether you camped outside a bookstore for three days awaiting the release of the Deathly Hallows or you don't know the difference between a Horcrux and a Hufflepuff, the comedy, magic and mayhem of Potted Potter makes for an entertaining and hilarious visit to the theatre".
After an extended NYC run last year and a successful North American world tour, POTTED POTTER?: The Unauthorized Harry Experience A Parody by Dan and Jeff returns to the Little Shubert with a few impressive accolades to its name, being a critic's pick by the New York Times, New York Magazine and Time Out London and having received the prestigious 2012 Olivier Award nomination for Best Entertainment & Family Show.
