Song of Solomon: A New Musical by Andrew Beall & Neil Van Leeuwen has been nominated for BEST PLAY/MUSICAL and BEST DIRECTOR, Luis Salgado, out of 41 shows from the Thespis NY Theater Festival.

"I'm honored to have received this email from the Producer of the Thespis Festival after only one performance of Song of Solomon saying "Congratulations - You have been selected in best Director's category in the Festival of this year" it's an honor to have been trusted with this material" said Luis Salgado. "I can only thank all the people who have helped make this possible and given 100% of their talent and dedication. Thank you Neil Van Leeuwen, Andrew Beall, our cast and my amazing Salgado Productions team!

The Salgado Production team opened to a sold out house and announced today that the remaining two performances scheduled are already sold out. "We are very pleased with the response and how the collaboration between The Actors' Temple, Thespis Festival, the writers of the show and Salgado Productions has come to be so productive in so little time. It is truly a beautiful thing to be part of this process of making Art With A Purpose" said Production Supervisor Heather Hogan.

The show features Music Direction by Eugene Gwozdz, Lighting Design Herrick Goldman, Scenic Design Consultant Kate Rance, Costume Design Consultant Harry Nadal, Asst. Director Valeria Cossu.

Song of Solomon is a tragic, epic romance, based on the Biblical Song of Songs. Set in ancient Israel, we follow the secret romance between King Solomon and a brilliant young vineyard girl, Almah, who inspires the most famous love poetry of all time. The stakes are Solomon's life, the woman he loves, and the fate of Israel."

The cast is lead by Evan McCormack who plays King Solomon opposite Ann McCormack who plays Almah. The cast includes Danicah Waldo, Casey Manning, Levin Valayil, Jonathan D. Morales, Rocio Lopez, Shannen Rae, Alessandra Baldacchino, and Tony Paterniti, with a supporting ensemble of Anthony Logan Cole, Aaron Dalla Villa, Dylan C. Digel, Tim Fitzsimons, Leslie Kyle Hudson, Andrea Nevil, Jennifer O'Neill, Irene Patino, Hannah Rable, Megan Tischhauser, Greg Uliasz, Charlie Willis and Dante Soria.
