The Production Company announces the world premiere of The Australia Project II: Australia Strikes Back! to play a three-week limited engagement at Chashama 217 (217 E. 42nd Street). Performances begin Thursday, September 13 and continue until Sunday, September 30. Opening Night is Thursday, September 13 at 8PM.
Twelve acclaimed Australian playwrights create pieces based on their perceptions of the United States. The Australia Project II: Australia Strikes Back! will include new plays from some of Australia¹s most celebrated playwrights, including Van Badham, Alexandra Collier, Brendan Cowell, Anthony Crowley, Ben Ellis, Wesley Enoch, Veronica Gleeson, Lally Katz, Ross Mueller, Tommy Murphy, and Emma Vuletic. The Production Company's work promotes and deepens cultural exchange between the United States and Australia and encourages artists to explore the relationship between the two countries.
The production features scenic design by Erica Beck Hemminger, costume design by Jessica Gaffney and Renee Mariotti, lighting design by Stacey Boggs and sound design by Ann Warren. Mary E. Leach is the production stage manager and Bethany Burgess-Smith is the fight choreographer.
The Australia Project II: Australia Strikes Back! plays the following regular schedule through Sunday, September 30: Thursdays – Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM & 7PM.
