Atlantic for Kids Will Premiere VELVETEEN RABBIT Musical This October

Atlantic for Kids 2015-2016 Season will open Saturday, October 10 with the world premiere of the new family musical The Velveteen Rabbit, by Cormac Bluestone and Anya Saffir, based on the beloved children's book by Margery Williams Bianco.

The Velveteen Rabbit will feature an ensemble cast of young actors, many of whom are Atlantic Acting School alumni including Brooks Cline (Father/Toy Soldier), Jessika Doyel (The Velveteen Rabbit), Paul Eddy (Mechanical Toy/Wild Rabbit), Mickele Hogan (Mother/Toy Soldier/The Fairy of Nursery Magic), Daniel Brian Jones (Tug Boat/The Doctor), Sam Gonzalez (Wooden Lion/Wild Rabbit), McLean Peterson (Nana), Mina Walker (Porcelain Doll/Wild Rabbit) and Wesley Zurick (The Boy) and also featuring Anya Gibian(Mechanical Toy/Wild Rabbit), Hugh C. Smith (The Skin Horse) and Greg Sullivan (Toy Soldier/Wild Rabbit).

Frequent collaborators Cormac Bluestone and Anya Saffir also have ties to Atlantic Acting School, which features the only conservatory program in the world offering in-depth training in David Mamet and William H. Macy's acting technique Practical Aesthetics.

Bluestone is an alumnus of the school and Saffir, also an alumna, is currently on faculty. Atlantic alumna Alison Beatty, who is on faculty and serves as the School Artistic Director, is the choreographer for The Velveteen Rabbit.

The Atlantic Acting School and Off-Broadway Atlantic Theater Company are celebrating their 30th anniversary season.

The Velveteen Rabbit performances are Saturdays and Sundays at 10:30am, beginning October 10 through November 1 at Atlantic Theater Company's The Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20 Street between 8 and 9 Avenues).

The Velveteen Rabbit is best suited for ages 3 to 9, while kids and adults of all ages are welcome.

Single tickets to The Velveteen Rabbit start at $15 for Kids (ages 10 and under) and $20 for Adults. Group tickets are also available. To purchase, please visit atlantictheater.org or call Ovation Tix at (866) 811-4111.

Atlantic for Kids has presented fun, quality children's theater for more than 12 years. In addition to its weekend performances for families, Atlantic for Kids has welcomed thousands of NYC public school children to see weekday performances. These performances include talk backs with cast members and discussions about the themes of the play.
