Following its sold-out limited run at Theater for the New City, Michael Domitrovich's shockingly topical and seductive new play Artfuckers, directed by Eduardo Machado, will begin previews at the DR2 Theatre (103 East 15th Street) on Friday, February 8, with an Official Opening night set for Tuesday, February 19 at 7PM

According to press notes: "Artfuckers, a new play about the second generation artistic elite of Downtown Manhattan – the privileged children of the money-art scenesters of the 1980's – follows a group of hot, creative twentysomethings who are collaborating on their friend's debut showing at New York Fashion week.  Using sex, status and New York City street smarts, the characters live in a world where everything is allowed and nothing is questioned… as long as it's in the name of art.  Artfuckers reveals a dramatic slice of today's Celebrity Art Scene, where the question on everyone's mind is: Are these people successful because of what they do or who they are?"

Director Eduardo Machado is currently the Artistic Director of INTAR Theatre in NYC. In 2007, he directed the premiere of Artfuckers at Theater for the New City, as well as Mr. Domitrovich's play Real World Experience as part of "Summer Shorts" at 59E59. Other directing credits include Rogelio Martinez's They Still Mambo in Havana at the Flea Theater, Margo Jefferson's Fifty Minutes with Harriet and Phillis and Sixty Minutes in Negroland at the Cherry Lane Theatre and the Culture Project, and productions of his own plays Related Retreats, Cuba in the Night, and Crocodile Eyes. Mr. Machado has also directed plays at INTAR, EST, The Company Theater, and the Playwright's Collective, among others. He wrote and directed the film Exiles in New York, which played at the A.F.I Film Festival, South by South West, The Santa Barbara Film Festival and The Latin American International Film Festival in Havana, Cuba. As a playwright, Mr. Machado is the author of over forty plays including The Cook, Havana is Waiting, A Burning Beach, The Floating Island Plays, Cuba and the Night, Once Removed, and Stevie Wants to Play the Blues. From 1997—2007, he was the Head of Playwriting at Columbia University, and he began teaching at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in the Fall of 2007. "Tastes Like Cuba: An Exile's Hunger for Home," a food memoir by Eduardo Machado and Michael Domitrovich, was recently released by Gotham Press.

Playwright Michael Domitrovich's Real World Experience, was part of "Summer Shorts" at 59E59, directed by Eduardo Machado.  His plays Dirtfag, Caregivers, Goatgod, and Godbrothers have been presented in BlueBox Productions' "Sticky" at Galapagos in Williamsburg and at the Bowery Poetry Club and La Mama etc. in Manhattan, all directed by Ali Ayala.  He directed his play Women with a Purpose at Dixon Place. He is co-author of Eduardo Machado's food memoir, "Tastes Like Cuba: An Exile's Hunger for Home".  His new projects include the book for Breach, with music by David Nehls (The Great American Trailer Park Musical), working with the incomparable Angelica Torn and the Geraldine Page Academy to develop his new play A Perfect Arrangement, and an untitled musical collaboration with the irresistible crooner Adam Green (of "The Moldy Peaches").  Mr. Domitrovich is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Artfuckers will play the following schedule at the DR2 Theatre (103 East 15th Street off Union Square): Tuesday – Friday at 8PM; Saturday at 5PM & 9PM; Sunday at 3PM.  Please note: There will be an additional performance on Monday, February 18 at 8PM; there will be no 9PM performance on February 9 and 16; and no performance on Sunday, February 17.
