SOUTH OF SETTLING
When her estranged cousin returns to small-town Carthage, Missouri after many years away, Kate Deckhouse finds her well-kept world turned upside-down. Compelled to revisit a history she'd rather forget, Kate tries to walk the fine line between the lies we tell others and the lies we tell ourselves.

Her plays include South of Settling, Carthage (2009 O'Neill Playwrights Conference, David Calicchio Emerging American Playwright prize), Man-Made, Splinters (2009 Kendeda Graduate Playwriting competition finalist), and Callback. She is a 2010 P73 Fellowship semi-finalist, a two-time Lecompte du Nouy prize winner, and a member of Interstate 73. Born in Texas and raised all over the world, Emily is now based in Brooklyn.
