Roots play a big role in Anthony Fedorov's story. Whether it was emigrating from the Ukraine at the age of 9 or growing up in a family of musicians-a factor that led to his decision to dedicate his life to the arts-Anthony's roots and relationships are still the cornerstone of his creative process. From the stage of American Idol and the nationwide tour that followed to his role as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat to the release of his debut EP "Never Over," Anthony continues to grow and evolve in his artistic journey.
During his teenage years Anthony Hoped and prayed like every up-and-coming artist for that "breakout" moment. In 2005 luck met preparation when he was selected for American Idol. To this day the only Ukrainian-born contestant on the show, Anthony's run on Idol gave audiences worldwide the rare gift of watching an artist develop and begin to find his voice in real time. Anthony's success on Idol – he earned 4the place, led to performances on other notable TV programs such as Ellen,The Tonight Show, and Regis & Kelly and allowed him to come into his own as a live performer on the American Idol Tour. On July 12th, 2005, Anthony performed for the first time in front of 20,000 people in Sunrise, Florida. Overcome by the intensity of the moment, he realized he was beginning a new chapter in his career. What followed was two months of intense touring in which he built an even larger fan-base thanks to performances in front more of more than 500,000 people across the country.
The fall of the following year Anthony's life was turned upside down when his older brother Denis passed away after battling Ewing sarcoma. While his live dates in front of sellout crowds were significant, Anthony's gifts as a songwriter proved to be something that could forge an even deeper connection on a personal level. His song "Never Over," a message to never give up the fight, was something Dennis listened to until his passing. The song would later became the title track on Anthony's debut EP with the entire project being dedicated to Dennis. Anthony keeps the memory of his brother alive not just through music but as an advocate, working with the Sarcoma Foundation of America having served on their board of directors for the last five years. Anthony encourages fans to visit http://www.curesarcoma.org for more information on sarcoma and ways to help find a cure to the disease.
In 2006 Anthony stepped into the lead of "Matt" in the longest running Off-Broadway musical of all time, The Fantasticks. Following his role in The Fantasticks, Anthony went on to star in numerous regional and international productions of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, including the Tokyo premiere in 2011.
Upon returning from his Joseph tour, Anthony signed with independent label Airgo Music - headed by Grammy-winning producer and songwriter Jimmy Greco (Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Santana). For Anthony one of the big distinctions is that Greco believed in him not just as an artist but as a songwriter. Finally able to take his songs into the studio - compositions which started years before with just a piano or guitar - he saw the value in the decision he had made in his new label and collaborators, including Daniel Frieberg and Grammy winning songwriter Bill Grainer.
"Never Over" was produced by Jimmy Greco and Russ DeSalvo and is now available on www.anthonyfedorov.com, iTunes, and Amazon.
