Algonquin Theater Productions invites you to see its production of "LOL", written by Tony Sportiello, directed by Duane Boutte, this September in its Intimate Theater Season.
"LOL" is the Frankenstein story told by way of the internet. Frustrated in affairs of the heart, Danny creates a feminine online version of himself (Karen) as a way of meeting and talking and relating to women, the idea being they would open themselves up to a woman easier than to a man. The plan is an unqualified success and through Karen, Danny finally obtains a deeper understanding and appreciation of the opposite sex. The problem comes when Karen refuses to relinquish control back to Danny. Their struggle is literally to the death.
