Ars Nova presents, as part of the Out Loud series, a FREE reading of: REVERBERATION by Matthew Lopez, directed by Keith Nobbs. The cast includes Chris Abbott, Aya Cash and Michael Esper.
REVERBERATION
After a personal tragedy, Jonathan has withdrawn from the world, seeking solace in his memories and in the anonymity of online connections. Claire, his upstairs neighbor, has countless acquaintances but no real friends. Over the course of one autumn, Jonathan and Claire form a bond born of mutual loneliness, but the past reverberates into the present, threatening to destroy their fragile happiness.
Matthew Lopez's The Whipping Man will receive its West Coast Premiere at The Old Globe in San Diego in May, directed by Giovanna Sardelli, followed by a production at Barrington Stage in June. Matthew's work has been heard and seen at Manhattan Theatre Club, The McCarter Theatre, The New Group and The Lark Play Development Center. Other plays include Tio Pepe (Summer Play Festival '08) and Zoey's Perfect Wedding.
Keith Nobbs recently directed Michael Swift's Boomerang in Houston, TX. In addition to Reverberation, he is also currently helping to develop Jam and Mark, a new play by Eddie Kaye Thomas. As an actor, Keith performed in Missed Connections NYC at Ars Nova in January. Broadway credits include: Lion in Winter. Off-Broadway: Dog Sees God, Romance, Dublin Carol, Hasty Heart, Four (Lortel Award, Drama Desk nom.), Triple Happiness, Fuddy Meers, Hope is the Thing with Feathers, Stupid Kids and Bye Bye Birdie at Encores. Television: The Black Donnellys (series regular), In Treatment, Fringe, Law and Order, I Will Avenge You Iago and Sopranos. Starting next week, he can be seen in the HBO miniseries The Pacific.
