Vineyard Theatre has launched a new podcast called "Theatre Uncorked" where Vineyard artists come together to talk about the process of bringing new works to the stage.
In the second episode, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel (HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE) and acclaimed director Rebecca Taichman (FAMILIAR) talk about how they brought the story of the Yiddish play GOD OF VENGEANCE to the stage in their new play Indecent.
INDECENT is presented by Vineyard Theatre in association with La Jolla Playhouse and Yale Repertory Theatre. Indecent features music composed by Lisa Gutkin (KLEZMATICS) and Aaron Halva (RED NOSES) and choreography by David Dorfman (GREEN VIOLIN).
The cast of Indecent includes Katrina Lenk (ONCE), Mimi Lieber (ACT ONE), Max Gordon Moore (RELATIVELY SPEAKING), Tom Nelis (THE VISIT), Steven Rattazzi (THE FOURTH SISTER), Richard Topol (FISH IN THE DARK) and Adina Verson (HIM).
Paula Vogel will be the Special Guest oat a Talk Back after the performance of Indecent on June 10th.
On Saturday, June 11, Ms. Vogel will present one of her celebrated, trademark workshops about theater: BOOT CAMP finds her in teacher/guide mode as she works with participants to expand their creative tools and thought process about what theatre can be and do. The BOOT CAMP provides the opportunity to join writing exercises designed to inspire creative responses to Aristotle's ELEMENTS OF DRAMA, and participants will write shorts pieces from specific prompts in an inspiring and non-intimidating environment.
