The 2010 Innovative Theatre Awards were presented last evening, September 20th at Manhattan's Cooper Union. The sixth annual awards ceremony also introduced the inaugural presentation of the Outstanding Innovative Design Award, which recognizes a designer whose work includes mask, props and audio/visual elements. The honor went to C. Andrew Bauer for Charles L. Mee's "Fêtes de la Nuit." Outstanding Lighting Design was awarded to Charles Foster for "Fêtes de la Nuit." Both C. Andrew Bauer and Charles Foster are responsible for the lush, critically acclaimed designs for the current Off-Broadway show "AN ERROR OF THE MOON" at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre. In all, "Fêtes de la Nuit," directed by Kim Weild, was nominated for seven Innovative Theatre Awards.

"AN ERROR OF THE MOON" is a fictional portrait of the brothers Edwin and
John Wilkes Booth, the rock star actors of their day. Edwin tells his tale of a man consumed by jealousy, of bitter sibling rivalry, and the mad obsession that sparked the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

Alixandra Gage Englund, lighting design by
Charles Foster, sound design by
Christian Frederickson, and projection design by C.
Andrew Bauer. Fight direction is by

The playing schedule for "AN ERROR OF THE MOON" is Tuesdays at 7 pm, Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 2 pm & 8 pm, and Sundays at 3 pm.
