5th Floor Theatre Company, a nonprofit organization supporting emerging theatre artists in New York City, will host TALKS ON 5TH FLOOR: Writing in Theater, Film & TV next Tuesday, March 12 at 7 PM at The Drama League Center. The free event is open to the public although reservations are required.

Hosted by Taylor Ferrera (Propaganda! The Musical), the talkback will feature insights and inspiration from three leading writers in the entertainment and theater industries today:

  • Bathsheba Doran (The Mystery of Love and Sex, "Boardwalk Empire," "The Looming Tower," "Traitors")
  • Adam Rapp (Red Light Winter, Nocturne, "In Treatment")
  • Jill Twiss ("Last Week Tonight with John Oliver," A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo)

TALKS ON 5TH FLOOR: Writing in Theater, Film & TV is the third in 5th Floor Theatre Company's TALKS ON 5TH FLOOR series, a key component of the Company's artistic resources program in support of its mission to educate and empower the community of non-union theatre professionals in New York City. Wine will be served by donation, and reservations can be made here. For more information, visit 5thfloor.org.

5th Floor Theatre is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports the community of emerging theatre artists as they build a foundation for their careers. The theatre industry in New York City is the most competitive in the world, with challenges that often pose significant barriers to aspiring talent. Newcomers without industry representation must have a strong combination of creativity, education and networking skills in order to identify and leverage opportunities for growth in the theatre arts. Through a welcoming creative network and carefully selected productions, and by providing educational and professional development resources for emerging artists, 5th Floor serves as New York City's home for undiscovered theatrical talent.
