Founder and Artistic Director Elysabeth Kleinhans states, “I know that Brian will be an incredible asset to the theater. Considering the amazing growth of 59E59 Theaters in the past nine years, Brian’s diverse background in theater from large scale to intimate venues, managing operations in new architecturally exciting buildings and working with visiting international companies, is the perfect match for what we need to move forward.”

“As a great admirer of Arena Stage and knowing how successfully Brian has worked with Edgar Dobie, I look forward to having an equally stimulating relationship with Brian at 59E59 Theaters as we enter our 10th year and continue to develop our varied programming,” adds Executive Producer Peter Tear.

Brian Beirne was most recently with Arena Stage in Washington, helping to open the architecturally stunning Mead Center for American Theater in 2010. Prior to that he was the Vice President of Operations and General Manager for The New Victory Theater and New 42nd Street Studios since 1997. He also managed a portfolio of theater real estate properties for the New 42nd Street project, which led the redevelopment of 42nd Street and Times Square in the late ‘90s and early '00s. Brian has also worked in Toronto, Canada for Harbourfront Centre, Livent, the Canadian Opera Company and Toronto Free Theatre, and with the independent producers Ross Petty and Tina Vanderheyden. He served on the Boards of the Toronto Fringe Festival, St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts and Canadian Stage Company.
