Actress, Playwright and Director Esther Chae Gives One Night Only Performance of So The Arrow Flies

International actress, playwright and director Esther Chae continues to conquer her artistic goals by balancing a recurring role on The Young and the Restless and recently attending the Pusan International Film Festival, and touring both North and South Korea as a USC NetKal Fellow, www.netkal.org. She has just finished being a moderator and presenter at The World Women’s Forum in Seoul, and is now stateside for a performance of her hit play, So the Arrow Flies, which she wrote and stars in, at the A.N.T. Festival.

Ms. Chae will perform So the Arrow Flies, which she also wrote, for one evening on November 3rd at 8pm. Ms. Chae has performed the play internationally, including a stop at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The play is part of the Ars Nova Theatre Festival that showcases six weeks of cutting-edge live entertainment from some of today’s most promising emerging talent, www.arsnovanyc.com. So the Arrow Flies, directed by Casey Strangl, centers on a North Korean spy and the Korean-American agent that chases her. Ms. Chae explores the ramifications of living in a post 9/11 world in all arenas - from conflicting ideologies to national identity, to how politics affect family. Ms. Chae has also adapted her play into a feature film script, which was a finalist for the Korean Film Council’s illustrious Director’s Lab. ONE NIGHT ONLY on Monday, November 3rd at 8pm. Ms. Chae is based in Los Angeles and New York. Her credits include Law and Order-Criminal Intent, The Shield, NCIS and ER, among others. Ms. Chae holds an MFA in Acting from Yale and an MA in Theatre Art from the University of Michigan.
