This year as last year guests Thomas Dybdahl Opera before Christmas fully set in, and another year has come and gone.
On 2 concerts last year were given the audience an experience they would not forget, and when the last trumpet tone on "One Day You'll Dance For Me, New York City» ebbed away in the room, there was a packed hall burst into thunderous applause. On stage stood a happy but tired Thomas Dybdahl accompanied by jazz trio In The Country, Synne Sanden, Mathias Eick and strings from cork.
Thomas also takes this year with his guitars, a wide range of songs from an eventually long and varied career, and some brand new tracks from the EP-one Thomas Dybdahl & In The Country and last History EP, which is a collaboration between Thomas and electronica wiz-kid Coucheron. Do not disregard a surprise or four this evening too!
This says Thomas Dybdahl about performing at the Opera's main stage: "Good rooms make you better! My concerts have always been in settings and halls which have a great personality and that almost acts like an extra band member. Saler as Massey Hall, the Beacon Theatre, Salle Pleyel, Concert Hall in Copenhagen and Oslo Opera House are all theaters which I think has got the best out of me as a live artist and that have shaped the experience for both the audience and me. It does something to you that performer to come into a room and breathtaking surroundings. It will somehow be as good as the audience, preferably a little bit better. "
