This is the tale of a meeting between two young people, inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest. It tells about the transition from childhood to adulthood, of the first love, and of putting behind one the child’s universe and cuddly toys. Author Rune Belsvik and composer Nils Henrik Asheim have taken their inspiration from Shakespeare’s play The Tempest and Arne Nordheim’s famous ballet of the same name. They have created a lively, playful storytelling universe, full of peculiarities yet with an eye for the lyrical and beautiful. This also marks the first time that the Norwegian National Children’s Chorus and the Norwegian National Ballet School are involved in a co-production together, with both singers and dancers in the leading roles. They unfurl a wonderful fable of what it is like to leave one’s childhood behind and enter into a new world.
