The Gospel of Judas, the third and final part of Tore Vagn Lid’s tragedy trilogy, is based on the recently discovered Gospel of Judas and its portrayal of Judas Iscariot. Here, the betrayer of the whole of humanity – the “culprit” – bears witness to that which no one could or would: that Judas is in fact the hero – the only one – who takes it upon himself to betray his master in order that the prophecy would be fulfilled.
Inspired by the old narratives and ‘rules of the game’, the objective is to find a format that can unite social oversight with existential insight.
