The Baroque Soloists: Baroque Extravaganza at Den Norske Opera & Ballett

The Baroque Soloists are a group of Norwegian musicians who are excellent soloists in their own right. The group was founded in 2006 – with the highly creative and original Bjarte Eike as performing artistic director. The musicians are youthful and approach the music, played on period instruments, from a refreshing angle.

The ensemble has enjoyed great success throughout Europe, has recorded a number of CDs and regularly tours Norway with Concerts Norway and The Cultural Rucksack, a project to bring culture to schools.

The Baroque Soloists’ roots are in early music and the members focus on reaching out to a wide audience through virtuoso playing and imaginative programme concepts. Their concerts are often described as playful and pushing the limits.
