The early music ensemble Barokksolistene is known for its musical virtuosity, playful performances and infectious joy in music-making. Violinist Bjarte Eike is both a collaborating musician and Artistic Director. Since its establishment in 2005, Barokksolistene has experienced considerable success. The ensemble has performed at prestigious festivals all over Europe and toured both in Norway and abroad with up to 50–60 concerts annually. In the season of 2013/2014 the ensemble took part in the Norwegian Opera & Ballet’s productions of Evening with the Masters of Baroque and Alcina, along with two concerts of its own at the Opera House.
Here we meet Barokksolistene with actor Svein Tindberg in their midst, in a performance of J. S. Bach’s St. Mark Passion. Tindberg has virtually become an icon in Norway in recent years through his exciting and much in-demand Biblical text interpretations. We meet him here together with Barokksolistene and singers in their version of St. Mark Passion. Welcome to the Palm Sunday concert!
