When it is carnival time in Brazil the entire country explodes in a popular festival of costumes, music and dance. Hundreds of thousands gather on the tribunes at the Sambadrome to watch the parade of hard-hitting drummers and scantily dressed dancers. Brazil’s proud carnival tradition is world famous. In this production we will learn more about the carnival, but also have the chance to experience Brazil’s contrasts – from the damp rainforest of the Amazon, through Brazilian folk music and athletic capoeira on the beach, to the din of Rio’s streets.
