Romeo and Juliet at Den Norske Opera & Ballett

In Romeo and Juliet, the dancers show what they are made of in strong character roles like Mercutio, Tybalt and Benvolio, not to mention the lovebirds who even the stars work against.

This is one of the Norwegian National Ballet’s greatest successes. “Romeo and Juliet is not just ballet, but dance at its grandest,” wrote Dagsavisen in 2011. This was the first time the Norwegian National Ballet performed the ballet in Bjørvika and the production ended with two critics’ award nominations and one critics’ award.
