Reality Box
"Reality Box" moves in the borderland between the concert, performance art and theatre. NING is collaborating with composer and installa-sjonskunstner Ignas Krunglevicius.. The starting point is the meeting of sound, text, high technology and family therapy.
In "Reality Box" be established that an unbreakable link between the sound and animated text. To every word hear a sound. At the same time as the music developed, evolving a call themselves. All the dialogue is projected on large surfaces. The text is an authentic transkrip-tion of talk therapy between a daughter and her parents, obtained from the British psykiatrikeren r. d. Laing. The sound stage is, in part, by machine, monotonous and massively.
The theme revolves around the power display in human relationships, exemplified by the family and the relationship between parents and youth. In this family, it turns out very quickly that it's not obvious who's sick and who's healthy. The same can be said about the community around us. Who is sane and who's crazy?
"Reality Box" is a continuation of NINGs longtime effort to explore the intersection of text, visualitet, and music from different angles of attack. In the "Reality" is the dialogue Box material, but at the same time as inextricably linked to audio production that the actual performance of the text-like projections-takes place through it to play on an instrument; No sound, no semantic meaning.
NING is a samtidsmusikkensemble who works with physical, theatrical and visual aspects of musical performance. NING has produced a large number of performances in collaboration with the composers, actors, choreographers and directors, and have performed at Black Box Theatre a number of times in the past.
Ignas Krunglevicius. is originally from Kaunas in Lithuania, a graduate and a resident of Oslo, Norway. Krunglevicius. is the composer, but has in recent years his work has focused on the video installations in which the projection of the authentic dialogue often is the starting point from which to cultivate a minimalist and focused expression.
