Oslo Kammerakademi is a new ensemble consisting of some of Norway's premier wind soloists. It focuses on performing chamber music with the same instruments as those that would have been used when the music was composed, and aims to enhance the tradition of chamber music with historically accurate interpretations at a high artistic level. Oslo Kammerakademi is the initiative of artistic director David Friedman Strunck, who is also solo oboist with the Oslo Philharmonic.
As well as historical music, the ensemble also plays new pieces, and has worked with composers such as Mert Karabey (Turkey), Magnar Åm, Morten Gaathaug and Ketil Hvoslef.
"… a firework show of a CD ... an ear-opener like no other! Truly one of the best this year." The Dagsavisen reviewer on Oslo Kammerakademi's debut album, Beethoven for Wind.
