Two of Spain’s greatest stars of flamenco take over the Main House when the Oslo World Music Festival holds its final concert at the Oslo Opera House. Carmen Linares and Javier Baron take us in the performance Remembranzas (Memories) into the poetic universe of Federico García Lorca, Rafael Alberti and Miguel Hernández Gilabert.
Oslo World has a long tradition of presenting world-class flamenco artists, and artists such as Paco de Lucia, Miguel Poveda, Estrella Morentes, Buika and Martirio have all been guests at the festival with great success.
The Oslo World Music Festival has become in the 22 years it has been held one of Europe’s leading world music festivals. From 27 October until 1 November 2015, more than 300 artists from more than 30 countries will perform on 16 stages in Oslo, offering the audience everything from soul and fado, to electronica, hip hop and desert blues, in addition to flamenco. Much of the city will be taken over by the festival this year, including the Oslo Opera House, which most recently hosted the opening of the Oslo World Music Festival in 2010.
