Miranda Cosgrove

Teen sensation Miranda Cosgrove brings her uniquely wholesome pop star quality to the Wolf Trap stage for her debut performance at the Filene Center. Before launching her musical career, Cosgrove perfected her acting skills, making her film debut in the 2003 comedy School of Rock and starring in the Nickelodeon sitcoms Drake and Josh (2004-2007) and iCarly (2007-present). The iCarly theme song, "Leave It All To Me," became an online sensation upon its release and led Cosgrove to be named one of MTV's Female Pop Rookies in 2009. In 2010 the young starlet released her debut album, Sparks Fly, which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. Her career continues to blossom with the release of her 2011 EP, High Maintenance, which MTV said "could elevate Cosgrove to a whole new level in the pop world."

Included in that fan base is Ellen Degeneres, who signed him to her record label soon after seeing the video. Chance's debut album, Hold On ‘Til the Night, is scheduled to be released on August 2.

$48 in-house, $35 lawn

Known as the quintessential Southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd brings their awe-inspiring classic rock ballads to the Wolf Trap stage. Beginning with the release of their debut album, Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd (1973), which included the epic single "Free Bird," the band became a legend in the realm of classic rock, infusing the genre with tinges of country and blues and even infiltrating pop culture with the 1974 hit "Sweet Home Alabama." Although a tragic plane crash killed two band members in 1977 and led to a temporary hiatus for the band, Lynyrd Skynrd reunited 10 years later for a tribute tour and has been active ever since, including recently releasing a new studio album, Gods + Guns, in 2009. Despite tragic circumstances and various lineup changes, Lynyrd Skynyrd has proved consistent in any band's most important task: providing legendary music that will continue to live on for generations to come.

An Evening with Dolly Parton

Better Day World Tour

Sunday, July 31, 2011 at 8 p.m.

$60 in-house, $35 lawn

Country music superstar Dolly Parton returns to Wolf Trap for the first time in nearly two decades for an evening of timeless hits. The Tennessee native started her music career at an early age, performing on local radio and television programs as a teenager before releasing her debut album, Hello, I'm Dolly, in 1967. By the 1970s, Parton had established herself as a country idol; she went on to release a record 41 Top 10 country albums and win seven GRAMMY Awards. The talented singer is also revered for her songwriting skills. Parton penned the No. 1 song "I Will Always Love You" in 1974 only to see it rise back to the top of the charts 18 years later when Whitney Houston covered it. In 2011 the country music queen released the entirely self-written album Better Day, proving that her decade-spanning career is still working 9 to 5 and beyond.
