Face of America Returns to Wolf Trap with a Brand New Installment
Wolf Trap’s seventh Face of America installment, Face of America: Spirit of South Florida will be presented at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts on September 8, 2012. This one-of-a-kind event shines a light on the unique aspects and diverse cultures and people of four National Parks in South Florida through original dance works performed and filmed on-site amidst the wild and raw elements of nature. Wolf Trap’s Face of America was conceived by Terre Jones, President & CEO in 1998 and became a reality in 2000 with Yosemite National Park. Face of America is critical to Wolf Trap’s mission to be at the forefront with new initiatives in the arts.
Parsons Dance recently wrapped on-site filming in the parks and will bring a live performance to Wolf Trap accompanied by stunning visual imagery shown on large HD screen backdrops. This unique production will integrate the video artistry of Emmy Award-winning Blue Land Media, live music from Miami’s GRAMMY-nominated Tiempo Libre and recorded music from baroque-pop musician Andrew Bird, as well as the images of acclaimed Florida photographer Clyde Butcher to create a multi-disciplinary celebration of each park site.
