Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announces its 2016 season lineup for Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods.
Since 1971, Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods has been a DC-area summer tradition for children and their families, featuring diverse acts including puppetry, storytelling, dance, theater, and music.

Fourteen acts this summer make their Wolf Trap debuts, including Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and actress Lisa Loeb; cross-cultural Latin adventure group 123 Andrés; and spirited street dance crew Fly Dance Company. Also debuting is Seattle's acclaimed "kindie rock" groupThe Not-Its!, who will lead sing-alongs about family, individuality, and the joys of being a kid. Fan favorites returning this year include sketch comedy musical group Story Pirates, wacky scientist Mr. Molecule, and more. Situated in the heart of Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods welcomes families, school groups, caregivers, and their young ones Tuesday through Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m., beginning June 21 through August 6. Tickets are $8 - $12 and children under two enter free of charge.Tickets for Wolf Trap's Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods performances go on sale to the public on Saturday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are required for all performances for adults and children. Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, produces and presents a full range of performance and education programs in the Greater Washington area, as well as nationally. Wolf Trap features three performance venues: the outdoor Filene Center and Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods, both located at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, and The Barns at Wolf Trap, located down the road from the national park and adjacent to the Center for Education at Wolf Trap. The 7,028-seat Filene Center is operated in partnership with the National Park Service and annually showcases an extensive array of diverse artists, ranging from pop, country, folk, and blues to classical music, dance, and theatre, as well as multimedia presentations, from May through September. The Barns at Wolf Trap is operated by the Wolf Trap Foundation year round, and during the summer months is home to the Grammy-nominated Wolf Trap Opera, one of America's outstanding resident ensemble programs for young opera singers. Wolf Trap's education programs include the nationally acclaimed Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts, Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods, a diverse array of arts education classes, grants, and a nationally recognized internship program.
