Wayside Theatre Announces STUDENT PLAYWRITING FEST PRESENTATION

The Wayside Theatre's Student 2011 Playwriting Festival is Monday, May 2 at Wayside Theatre, Middletown, VA "Much Ado About Nothing, Part Two" a Staged Reading styled performance is on the mainstage at 7:00 PM and the admission is Free to the public, with a "Talk Back" with the author, Tiffany Waters at the conclusion of the performance. The Playwrighting Festival is sponsored by First Bank, BB & T Bank and Virginia Commission for the Arts.

Tiffany Waters, a student at Skyline High School and lives in Front Royal won First Place in the 2011 Playwrighting Festival for area student in our regions public, private or home schools. Tiffany receives a staged-reading performance, receives the T Carter Fussell 2011 Outstanding Playwright Award, a Savings Bond from First Bank and tickets to a show in the 2011-2012 Season.

Tiffany is working with dramaturg, Thomasin Savaiano, who will direct and cast her production with a combined cast of local Wayside Theatre actors and local teen actors for the 2011 Playwright's Festival Staged-reading on Monday, May 2nd. Thomasin Savaiano announces the cast for the one-act play. The cast of veteran actors: Aaron Mann, Matt Baldoni and Sarah Fath. Local teen actors: Clare Lewis (Winchester), Brandon Shockey (Old Fields, WV) and Jessie Kraemer (Stephens City).

Paul F. Rush III, a student at Skyline High School, and lives in Front Royal, won Second Place with "The Fake Me." Paul will be presented a Savings Bond from BB & T and tickets to a show during the 2011-2012 Season.

Wayside Theatre is the second oldest professional theatre in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and is celebrating its 50th Golden Anniversary of presenting high quality, professional entertainment.
