The Alden's McLean Kids Performance series continues at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, with Bear Hunt Productions' delightful show "We're Going on a Bear Hunt." Tickets are $15, $10 for MCC district residents. The Alden is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue, inside the McLean Community Center.
Adapted from the award-winning picture book written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" is brought vividly and noisily to the stage in Director Sally Cookson's fun-filled adaptation. Set to Benji Bower's versatile lively score, the production features catchy songs, interactive scenes and plenty of hands-on adventure-plus a few special surprises. A small group of intrepid adventurers are on a quest to find a bear. They wade through the gigantic swishy, swashy grass, the splishy splashy river and the thick oozy, squelchy mud on their journey. The show is appropriate for children ages 4 and older. "Quite simply, the best show I've seen." - Sky Arts.
