The Woman in Black is a spine-tingling ghost story adapted by Stephen Mallatratt from the story by Susan Hill. A popular success in Wayside Theatre's 2000 season, this chilling tale features the legend of a mysterious woman in black, who's sudden and mysterious appearances bring terrifying events into the lives of those who witness her presence. When a young solicitor is summoned to the isolated town of Crythin Gifford to dispose of the estate of a reclusive widow he comes face to face with the mysterious legend of The Woman in Black and his life is altered forever. Afraid to tell his story, but knowing he must, he hires a young actor to help him present this grisly tale, only to find that in rehearsing the story in a darkened and run down theatre, that he may have summoned the power of the legend of the Woman in Black into the lives of all who hear her story.
Crocker announces the cast: Jody Lee (Reunion, A Musical Epic in Miniature, and The Nerd) and a newcomer to Wayside Theatre, David Millstone. The production is directed by Warner Crocker. The Woman in Black began performances on Saturday, October 8th and. Opening Night was Sunday, October 9th at 6:30pm. The remaining performance schedule lists performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:30pm. Ticket prices are $25 and $30 dollars with tickets for children 17 and younger set at $10.00.
