No Rules Theatre Company will close at its first season in residence at Signature Theatre with "The No Rules Show," conceived by Co-Artistic Directors Joshua Morgan and Brian Sutow and hosted by Morgan, July 10 - 21.
Different entertaining guests will join host Joshua Morgan (piano bar emcee for Arena Stage, piano bar host for Theater Washington/Capital Pride) every single night in this wild and crazy madcap variety show. Actors, singers, dancers, musicians, improvisers, politicians and radio & TV personalities will appear on the show in unscripted interviews with Morgan and in performance. Audiences should be prepared for music, games and hilarious interactions.
Following each "performance," the audience is invited to stick around for live karaoke emceed by Joshua Morgan.
"We knew we were building this season around laughter, and this kind of spontaneous, joyous comedy is what founded our relationship," said Co-Artistic Director Brian Sutow on conceiving the show with his business partner Joshua Morgan. "Anyone who knows Joshua knows he has a magnetic personality and is one of the funniest people you will ever meet. His personality has garnered a huge following through all of the emceeing work he has done around town, and we have some pretty hilarious things planned for him. Of course, as someone who has written several comedies for Joshua in the past, I know full well that the funniest parts are the things that aren't planned."
"I don't really have personal boundaries," said Host and Co-Creator Joshua Morgan. "This show is comprised of some of the best stuff that can happen in live theater. I love having these unique, one-of-a-kind interactions, because you can't experience that anywhere else. I'm only worried about all the vodka and cranberries I'm going to enjoy over the course of this. Thank god it's only for a couple weeks!"
