McLean Community Center Announces Their Upcoming Events

The McLean Community Center will present a number of events and performances this upcoming week.

From March 10-21 The Women's Club of McLean will present Elementary School Artists Exhibits and from March 25-April 4 there will be Middle and High School Artists Exhibits. The McLean Project for the Arts, in partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools, presents the art of students in kindergarten through 12th grade in the McLean area. On exhibit will be work by students of Chesterbrook, Churchill Road, Franklin Sherman, Haycock, Kent Gardens, Lemon Road, Spring Hill and Westgate elementary schools, Cooper and Longfellow middle schools, and Langley and McLean high schools.

On Sunday, March 21 at 3 PM the Grey Seal Puppets present A SHOW OF VIRTUES. Tickets will cost $14/$10 district residents.

Inspired by William J. Bennett's The Children's Book of Virtues, Grey Seal Puppets will present a program of stories that include "The Little Hero of Holland," "The Tortoise and the Hare," "Please" and "Why Frog and Snake Never Play Together."

At 4:30 PM on March 21 join puppeteer Drew Allison from Grey Seal Puppets in a demonstration of hand, rod and shadow puppets. End the workshop by making your very own puppet to have and to hold! Tickets available at the Box Office only.

There will be a Spring Delights Concert Saturday, March 20 at 7:30 PM. Tickets will cost $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $15 for students. Children under 12 will be free.

Elisabeth Von Trapp a folk singer/guitarist and Bryan Wethington will premiere works by area youth composers, an annual tradition, in cooperation with the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association.
