Counting Crows
The Counting Crows, overnight hit sensations from the 1990s, bring their popular brand of American rock to the Filene Center stage in their highly anticipated debut appearance. Rock mainstays since their inception in the early 1990s, the Counting Crows got a taste of their future fame after filling in for Van Morrison at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 1993. Their debut album August and Everything After was released the same year to critical acclaim. "Mr. Jones," the leading single from this album, topped the pop charts for a 26-week run, peaking at No. 2. Their most recent album Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings, was released in 2008 and continues to deal with front man Adam Duritz's inner demons. Showcasing a collection of consistently strong American rock anthems, this record demonstrates the band's ability to engage new and old audiences after almost 20 years on the scene. It spent 18 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, peaking at the No. 3 position. All Music Guide describes Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings as simply "brilliant."

Augustana
Bringing their 1990s inspired indie-pop to Wolf Trap for the first time is California-based rock outfit, Augustana. Formed by singer/songwriter and keyboardist Dan Layus in 2002, the group's music is filled with sweetly melancholy, piano-driven melodies reminiscent of the Wallflowers and Counting Crows. Their hit "Boston" was highly recognized for its use in television shows including Scrubs and One Tree Hill and spent 30 weeks on the pop charts.

George Thorogood & The Destroyers
with Special Guest Star The Robert Cray Band
Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
$42 in-house; $25 lawn

George Thorogood & The Destroyers
The bad boys of rock 'n' roll return to Wolf Trap for an evening of their signature renegade rock. Boston-based George Thorogood & The Destroyers bring their rock and blues style, heard in hits "Bad to the Bone," "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer," and "Howlin' for My Baby." Their 2009 album The Dirty Dozen was a signficant commercial success, spending 16 weeks on the Billboard's Blues Chart, peaking at No. 1. Electric Review praised the album, saying, "the Dirty Dozen brings us the best in rock and blues both past and present, pushing us to forever lose our souls in the dark swollen waves of its tapestry." Throughout their career, Thorogood & The Destroyers have committed themselves fully to live performance, always offering the audience a rockin' good time.

The Robert Cray Band
Returning to Wolf Trap for the first time in three years is the GRAMMY Award-winning Robert Cray Band. Praised as one of the leaders in crossover blues, Cray has generated significant acclaim and commercial success throughout his career, including five GRAMMY Awards. He self-produced his most recent album, This Time, in 2009, which spent 16 weeks on Billboard's Blues Albums chart, peaking at No. 2.

Legally Blonde (The Musical)

Guilty as charged-Legally Blonde The Musical makes its premiere on the Filene Center stage with loads of glitz and glamour. Based on the 2001 hit movie starring Reese Witherspoon, Legally Blonde The Musical is a fun-filled show of sparkle and pizzazz. Following blonde bombshell Elle Woods from her UCLA sorority to Harvard Law School, Legally Blonde The Musical tells a story that is more than skin deep. In the show's time on Broadway and touring the United States, it received extensive critical acclaim, including seven Tony no minations. Much of the plot and many characters have been taken from the 2001 movie. However, there are also new songs and twists, making this musical entertaining for attendees from all entry points. Filled with fun songs from the beginning, The Washington Times praises Legally Blonde The Musical: "the laughs begin from the very first number. Fun in the Key of Pink!"
