"Keep on the Sunny Side," the famous tale of the Carter family and the love story of A.P. and Sara Carter will be performed at the most deserving venue in the country. Hear the music and re-live the passion where the story first began, The Carter Family Fold.

The Carter Family Fold will host six performances of "Keep on the Sunny Side" between May 28 and June 7. The production, which is being produced by Barter Theatre, will feature actor Eugene Wolf as A.P. Carter. Katie Deal, Molly Andrews, Kimberly Braun, Darrell Johnston and Gill Braswell will join Wolf to complete the "Keep on the Sunny Side" cast.

The Carter Family-Sara, Maybelle and A.P. Carter-are widely known as the First Family of Country Music. "Keep on the Sunny Side" was written by a local doctor, Douglas Pote, to pay homage to this country music royalty in the best way, through their music, which is performed throughout the show.

Barter Theatre's Associate Artistic Director Nicholas Piper is directing "Keep on the Sunny Side" and says, "I love this play because it is about things that are important to us in Appalachia: music, family, home and community."

Tickets to "Keep on the Sunny Side" at The Carter Fold are $20 and are available for advance purchase through the Barter Theatre box office at 276-628-3991 or at bartertheatre.com.

Barter Theatre is offering a special promotion for "Keep on the Sunny Side" at The Carter Family Fold. The first 25 guests who arrive at each performance will receive a poster signed by actor Eugene Wolf.

Barter Theatre will also be performing "Keep on the Sunny Side" at The Tent on Barter Square beginning on June 10.

"Keep on the Sunny Side" at the Carter Family Fold is made possible by corporate sponsors Domtar and the Regional Adult Education Program. The Barter Theatre is funded in part by The Virginia Commission for the Arts and The National Endowment for the Arts.
