Four County Players announces auditions for The Importance of Being Earnest, written by Oscar Wilde and directed by John Holdren.
The auditions will take place Sunday January 30 at 7:00 PM on the Main Stage of Four County Players, 5256 Governor Barbour Street, Barboursville and Monday January 31 at 7:00 PM. Call-backs if needed: Tuesday and Wednesday, February 1 and 2, at 7:00 PM in the Cellar at Four County Players in Barboursville.
A classic comedy with sparkling verbal wit, The Importance of Being Earnest is set in and near London in the mid-1890s. In performance, actors will speak in an upper class British accent ("Received Pronunciation"), though accents are not required in the audition.
· Arrive at or close to the start time as actors will be grouped to read scenes from the script.
· The theatre will be open 15 minutes prior to auditions to allow time to fill out paperwork.
· Please be familiar with the script, which is readily available online.
· Auditions are open to everyone.
RUN AND REHEARSAL INFO:
· The Importance of Being Earnest will run Thursdays through Sundays, May 5-22, 2011, on the main stage at Four County Players.
· Accent coaching will begin in February. Rehearsals will begin in early March, 2011. Rehearsals will be held Monday-Thursday nights, as well as Sunday afternoons, with some Saturdays possibly required as we near tech week.
