Firehouse is pleased to announce the cast and performance schedule of our regional premiere of Jordan Harrison's MAPLE AND VINE -- a new play about old times. Previews are Thursday, April 7 and Friday, April 8 at 7:30pm. Opening is Saturday, April 9 at 7:30pm, and the runs continues through Sunday, May 8, 2016.

Directed by Mark Lerman, MAPLE AND VINE focuses on yuppie power couple Katha and Ryu. She's an editor at Random House and her Asian American husband is a successful plastic surgeon, but Katha can't get a good night's sleep. When they're invited by a mysterious stranger to join the SDO (Society for Dynamic Obsolescence) they decide to give it all up to pursue more traditional values in the gated community of 1950s reenactors. The play examines the compelling pull of nostalgia and questions our yearning for the "good old days."

The New York Times calls MAPLE AND VINE "Piquantly funny, cleverly executed and darkly playful," and Theatre Louisville says it "Does everything a good play should do...Harrison makes you weigh the costs and benefits of both eras without hitting you over the head with his own conclusion. You will enjoy reaching your own."

Jordan Harrison is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Hodder Fellowship, the Kesselring Prize, the Roe Green Award from Cleveland Play House, the Heideman Award, the Loewe Award for Musical Theater, and a NEA/TCG grant. A graduate of the Brown University M.F.A. program, Harrison is an alumnus of New Dramatists. He currently writes for the Netflix original series, "Orange is the New Black."

The ensemble of MAPLE AND VINE includes Addie Barnhart (Ellen/Jenna), McLean Jesse (Katha), Landon Nagel* (Dean), Xander Wong (Ryu), and Adam Valentine (Roger/Omar). The production team includes Mark Lerman (Director), Matthew Allar (Set and Costume Designer), Andrew Bonniwell (Lighting Designer), Jeanne Bishop (Props Master), Andrew Scott (Production Stage Manager), Phoebe Copeland (Assistant Stage Manager), Heather Ogden (Assistant Stage Manager), Danielle Gailey (Assistant Costume Designer), and Jenna Gavaler (Movement Consultant).
