David Lindsay-Abaire to Visit Cadence Theatre's Local Debut of GOOD PEOPLE, 11/5

Cadence Theatre Company in partnership with Virginia Repertory Theatre presents the Richmond premiere of Good People by Pulitzer Prize-Winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire. Good People previews on October 17th and runs through November 9, 2013.

On November 5th, Richmond theatre critic Dave Timberline will serve as host and moderator for a pre-show discussion from 5-6 p.m. with Lindsay-Abaire in the Neil and Sara Belle November Theatre. The discussion is free and open to the public.

Margie Walsh loses her job at a South Boston dollar store and reaches out to an old flame from the past to help her out. During the course of her visit, an unexpected truth is revealed. Good People is a hilarious and touching story that looks at the dangerous consequences of choosing to hold on to the past or leaving it behind. Good People premiered on Broadway, and was awarded the 2011 New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play, The Horton Foote Prize, The Edgerton Foundation New American Play Award, and two Tony nominations. Lindsay-Abaire won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his highly-acclaimed play, Rabbit Hole.

Good People is directed by Anna Johnson, and stars Jacqueline O'Connor, Katrinah Carol Lewis, Jay O. Millman, Alexander Sapp, Dawn A. Westbrook and Kelly Kennedy. Scenic Design is by Brian Barker, Lighting Design is by Emily Clarkson, Costume Design is by McLean Jesse, Scenic Painting is by Terrie Powers, Dialect Coaching is by Janet Rodgers and Sound Design is by Jacob Blizard, Collin Pastore and Jesse Senechal.

Fourth Wall Student Forum member, Lily Hargis, will moderate this discussion.

INDUSTRY NIGHT (use code INDGP on 11/5/2013)-Theatre Industry members may purchase $15 tickets and attend a post-show discussion with playwright David Lindsay-Abaire and host Dave Timberline.

Good People will be presented at Theatre Gym at the Virginia Rep Center; 114 W. Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia 23220. Good People runs October 17 - November 9, 2013. Performances: Thursdays at 7 p.m. (no performance 10/31/13), Tuesday, 11/5/13 at 7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 4 p.m. (2 p.m. performance 10/20/13).
