Virginia Stage Company is thrilled to announce the upcoming production of Dracula, A Feminist Revenge Fantasy Really, written by acclaimed playwright Kate Hamill, at the historic Wells Theatre. This bold and subversive retelling of Bram Stoker's classic novel Dracula offers a fresh, feminist perspective, blending horror with humor to explore themes of power, gender, and revenge.

Kate Hamill, known for her innovative adaptations of literary classics, has reimagined Dracula as a darkly comic and empowering narrative where the hunted become the hunters. In this version, the women of Dracula—often depicted as victims—take control of their destinies in a world dominated by monstrous men.

Under the direction of Melissa Mowry, this production promises to captivate audiences with its unique blend of horror, satire, and social commentary. The cast, featuring some of the region's finest talent, will bring Hamill's vibrant characters to life, offering an experience that is both thrilling and thought-provoking.

Dracula, A Feminist Revenge Fantasy Really will run October 16-November 3, 2024, at the Wells Theatre in downtown Norfolk. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online at www.vastage.org or by calling the box office at (757) 627-1234.
