Richmond CenterStage has announced that the previously scheduled September 8 performance of Wynonna and the Big Noise as part of CenterStage's Third Birthday celebration has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
On August 18, Wynonna's husband and drummer, Michael Scott "Cactus" Moser, suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident.
An official statement from Wynonna said, in part, that Moser and Judd went for a ride together on separate bikes before her scheduled concert in South Dakota last weekend. Moser collided with an oncoming vehicle and was transported to a local hospital. He is still being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. Wynonna was not involved in the accident.
Also in her official statement, Wynonna stated, "The outpouring of prayer and support from friends, family and fans has been a blessing to both Cactus and I. Cactus is a champion. I love him deeply and I will not leave his side." They were married this past June in Tennessee.
"Given the uncertainty of Wynonna's schedule as she spends time with her husband, we felt it best to postpone our gala event," said CenterStage Executive Director Richard M. Parison, Jr. "The entire CenterStage family sends our thoughts and prayers to Wynonna and Cactus, and wish him the very best during his recovery."
Richmond CenterStage's Third Birthday Concert and Gala Celebration will be rescheduled for a date later this year. Specific details will be released in the coming weeks.
Full refunds are available to fans that purchased their tickets through authorized retailers at the original point of purchase.
