Cast of Reston Players' LES MISERABLES to Perform at Fairfax Barnes & Noble, 12/13

Cast members of Reston Players' Les Miserables will perform at the Barnes & Noble at 12193 Fair Lakes Promenade in Fairfax, VA on Friday, December 13 from 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Shoppers can listen to performances from company member, and a percentage of purchases made at the Barnes & Noble that evening will support the Reston Players.

"We are grateful to Barnes & Noble for supporting the Reston Players," said producer Richard E. Schneider. "This is an opportunity to give audience members a small peek at some of the stunning performances they can expect to see in Les Miserables this January."

Ella Schnoor, a sixth grader from Winchester, VA, plays the role of Little Cosette. She is no stranger to playing Cosette, having played the part last summer at the Woodstock Playhouse in New York. She said she read the abridged version of Les Miserables while preparing to play the role.

"I love playing Cosette because she is imaginative and dreams about her mother and what a better life might look like in Castle on a Cloud," Schnoor said. "I love Cosette so much that I even named my puppy Cosette."

Cara Bachman, a South County junior from Lorton, VA, plays the older Cosette. She encouraged people to think about bringing Les Miserables home for the holidays. "I know I speak on behalf of countless people when I say Les Miserables has changed who I am as a person," Bachman said. "Les Miserables is a story that is timeless and eternally relevant. It tackles the harsh issues of reality with no restraint, leaving us with full hearts, teary eyes, and hope."

Chuck Dluhy, who plays the scheming Thenardier, encouraged people to get a taste of the musical at Barnes & Noble, then return to Reston to see the show in January. "It's a modern classic with an outstanding cast and production staff that will provide an unforgettable evening of entertainment," Dluhy said.

Andrew JM Regiec directs the Reston Players production of Les Miserables and Mark V. Deal is the musical director. "Les Miserables is a classic," said director Andrew Regiec. "This timeless piece of art will forever capture the hearts of the audience."

Schneider said that people who wish to support Reston Players but cannot attend the event at Barnes & Noble on December 13 can make an online purchase instead. "We encourage people to make online purchases at bn.com/bookfairs Dec. 14-18 to support high quality theatre productions like Les Miserables," he said. Online purchasers need to enter Bookfair ID 1189305 at checkout for their purchase to benefit Reston Players.

Performances of Les Miserables begin January 17. Les Miserables will play January 17, 18, 24, 25, 26, 30, and 31, and February 1, 6, 7, 8, and 9. January 26 and February 9 are 2:00 p.m. matinee performances and February 1 and 8 feature performances at both 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

All Reston Players main stage productions are performed at CenterStage at the Reston Community Center, 2310 Colts Neck Road, Reston, VA. CenterStage is handicap accessible and offers listening devices for the hearing impaired.
