A well-kept secret in the Richmond Theatre Community, CAT has presented season-after-season of exciting, entertaining and thought-provoking theatre. In its 54thseason audiences can expect much more of the same - comedy, drama and sheer fun!

Baskerville (a Sherlock Holmes Mystery) by Ken Ludwig

September 1 through October 16, 2017

Get your deerstalker cap on-the play's afoot! Comedic genius Ken Ludwig transforms Arthur Conan Doyle's classic The Hound of the Baskervilles into a murderously funny adventure. Sherlock Holmes is on the case. The male heirs of the Baskerville line are being dispatched one by one. To find their ingenious killer, Holmes and Watson must brave the desolate moors before a family curse dooms its newest heir. Watch as our intrepid investigators try to escape a dizzying web of clues, silly accents, disguises, and deceit. Does a wild hellhound prowl the moors of Devonshire? Can our heroes discover the truth in time?

Ripcord by David Lindsay-Abaire

November 3 through November 18, 2017

When the cantankerous nursing home resident Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman

. . . By any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden.

The role of Abby will be played by Pat Walker.

The Diviners by Jim Leonard, Jr.

February 2 through February 17, 2018

CAT's 2018 entry into the Acts of Faith Festival is the story of a disturbed young man and his friendship with a disenchanted preacher in southern Indiana in the early 1930s. Family and community members each have a different response to this curious companionship and its ultimate outcome.

Zachary Owen will direct The Diviners.

Lucky Me by Robert Caisley

April 6 through April 21, 2018

In this whimsical comedy about love, aging, bad luck and airport security we meet Sara who is having a really bad week. Everything is going wrong - light bulbs keep burning out, the roof leaks, there's something fishy going on in the aquarium, even the cat has disappeared but Sara might just find romance yet!

The role of Sara will be played by Amy Berlin.

Doublewide, Texas by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten

June 1 through June 16, 2018

The inhabitants of one of the smallest trailer parks in Texas are thrown for a loop when they learn their little community is about to taken over by a nearby town. The folks are dealing with pending unemployment; feisty, aging parents; a non-traditional beauty pageant; and an over-zealous animal lover while trying to avoid being swallowed up by "the big guys." They say everything is bigger in Texas and that's especially true in Doublewide, Texas, where life is double the fun and double the joy!
