NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT whisks the fabulous Roaring Twenties, that golden era of glamour and music, up and out of the history books and brings it to life in a dazzling new production from esteemed director Chip Gallagher and the Virginia Musical Theatre. Featuring classic Gershwin tunes, this new favorite from Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro is based on a classic 1927 Gershwin musical but reimagined for the modern era. The musical first debuted on Broadway in 2012 and has since made waves on both national and global stages with a 2014-2015 U.S national tour and a successful run at the Stage Theatre in Melbourne, Australia.

Cast in the lead roles are Broadway Star Tiffany Haas and VMT audience-favorite Matt Densky. Densky enjoyed great success in the recent smash-hit production of Disney's The Little Mermaid. Known for her work as Glinda in the Broadway production and national tour of Wicked, Nice Work If You Can Get It marks Haas's debut with VMT.

"It's such a privilege working with these phenomenal people and this incredible creative team that's right here in my own back yard. It's a wonderful feeling to come home and perform in my own home state - and with familiar faces," Haas said.

The production also features the talent of accomplished actress and singer Georgia Rogers Farmer, a native of Richmond.

The VMT production of Nice Work If You Can Get It will be the musical's Virginia professional premiere - and the last show of VMT's 25th anniversary season. Audiences can look forward to enjoying tunes such as "Fascinating Rhythm," "Someone to Watch Over Me," "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off" and "S'Wonderful."

"This show is really special and endearing and exciting and fun and silly - I think the audience is going to have a blast," Haas said.

Opening Friday, April 22 at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, this not-to-be-missed musical comedy will run through April 24.

Virginia Musical Theatre has emerged as a leading theatre company dedicated to nurturing artists in a creative environment. VMT is driven by an innovative spirit that constantly seeks new management and artistic models.
