Tuesdays: Sept. 14 - Oct. 26, 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.
This fast-paced workshop will delve into performing on two frontiers: seeking command of the voice and using the body to convey a story. First, students will explore their own voices to expand the range of their vocal delivery to infuse lines with richness and complexity. Then, students will gain new skills to enhance their physical movement onstage to convey a story. Once these enhanced skills are combined, students will experience a new depth and flexibility in their performing. This workshop will use texts from classical literature for the final presentation for parents and friends at the last meeting. Possible 2011 performance opportunities may present themselves. David Alford and Katie Becker - two of Barter's most powerful and popular teachers - are joining forces to teach this special workshop, and the class size will be limited, so please call soon to enroll.
