The BroadwayWorld Student Centeris a comprehensive Student Database listing college and university performing arts programs across the country making it easier for prospective students by showcasing programs searchable by schools, location, degrees and concentrations.

The Student Center also offers a show calendar of college and high-school productions where schools can upload photos, videos, cast lists, articles and other media content for each of their shows. BWW will be combing through all content regularly and will launch weekly feature stories highlighting productions locally and nationally that have provided us with this extra content.

This week's featured school is The Departement of Theatre Arts at Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA!

Learn about their degree offerings below, and check out photos from last year's production of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT starring Isaac Gay in the title role.

The Department of Theatre Arts at Regent University offers a Bachelor of Arts in Theater, a Master of Arts and a Master of Fine Arts. Read below for more information on each program!

Regent's Bachelor of Arts in Theatre program offers hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center equipped with 3 performance spaces. Through a combination of historical, theoretical and practical training, you will be given the opportunity to explore several disciplines associated with the amateur, professional, and academic theatres. Our experienced faculty will help you to become a well-rounded theatre artist with coursework in acting, directing, voice, design, stagecraft, theatre history, text analysis and makeup. Upon graduation, you will be equipped to begin a career in theatre or to continue your training at the graduate-level.

The Department of Theatre Arts offers a Master of Arts in Theatre with concentrations in theatre ministry and theatre studies. The M.A. in Theatre is a flexible, on-campus and online graduate degree that can be finished as soon as one calendar year. It immerses students in all aspects of theatre from theory to production. Upon graduation, students will be equipped to work in the industry, on the mission field, in the church and classroom, or to pursue a doctoral degree.

The MFA in Acting is a three-year, professional training program with the singular purpose of preparing actors to excel in a competitive marketplace. Students will receive in-depth training in their craft through an innovative curriculum integrating theory and practice. Admittance into the program is highly competitive, but once accepted the student will be challenged—artistically, intellectually and spiritually—by a faculty of working professionals and experienced educators in a faith-based learning environment. Upon graduation, students will be equipped to work as professional actors in theatre, film and television or to pursue a career in academia.

The 2012-2013 production season continues with JOYFUL NOISE now playing thru December 2 at the Studio Theatre. Upcoming productions include THE ADDING MACHINE, EVERYWOMAN, and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here
