Before Rent, there was tick, tick… BOOM!. This autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent, is the story of an aspiring composer who questions his life choices on the eve of his thirtieth birthday. First performed as a solo rock monologue by Larson in 1990, it was later revamped by playwright David Auburn as a three-actor piece and premiered off-Broadway on June 13, 2001 at the Jane Street Theatre.

Audition requirements:
Looking for three strong actors (2 males, 1 female)
who can play mid-twenties/early-thirties.
Strong pop-rock vocals required. ALL ROLES OPEN.
Please prepare: 32 Bars of a pop/rock song of your choosing.
Please bring a headshot/resume.
Character Breakdown:
Jonathan: (Tenor) Struggling, young composer whose life seems to be going nowhere. About to turn thirty and still waiting tables for a living, Jon is desperately scared of his future.
Michael: (Baritone/Tenor) Jonathan's best friend; has decided to give up the Bohemian lifestyle for a new life on Madison Ave.
Susan: (Mezzo-Soprano) Jonathan's girlfriend; would like to settle down outside of NYC and start a family.
