WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? - Ridgefield Theater Barn

Open Auditions for the Edward Albee classic
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

If you'd like to be a part of a universally recognized theater classic, then be sure to come to our open auditions for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? by Edward Albee, and directed by David Bass.

On the campus of a small New England college, George and Martha invite a new professor and his wife home for a nightcap in the wee hours of the night. As the cocktails flow, Nick and Honey, the young couple find themselves caught in the crossfire of a savage marital war where the combatants attack the self deceptions they forged for their own survival. George and Martha face off as one of theater’s most notoriously dysfunctional couples in playwright Edward Albee’s hilarious and harrowing masterpiece.

This comic drama about the shattering of marital illusions and the breakdown of civility, won the Tony and New York Drama Critic’s Cirle Award for Best Play in 1963, and was named by the selection committee for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama as well, but never actually received the award because the advisory board objected to the play’s then-controversial nature.
