The Royal Players will hold auditions October 12 and 13 for its 2015 Christmas musical, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, based upon the Paramount Pictures film.
The director is Chris Boggs, with music direction by Jo Murry and choreography by Moriah Patterson. Those auditioning should prepare a song in the style of the musical and supply sheet music to the accompanist. They should wear something comfortable to move in.
From Rogers and Hammerstein: “Based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features seventeen Irving Berlin songs and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander.”
Auditions begin at 7 p.m. both nights at the Royal Theatre in historic downtown Benton (111 S. Market). Theatre phone is
501-315-5483. Website is
theroyalplayers.com. Audition forms will be available online in October. This is primarily a show for adult actors. However, there is a part for a nine-year-old girl and there’s a dance scene with some children. Contact Chris Boggs at
chrisboggsctlr@yahoo.com if you have questions, concerns or would like the audition form to fill out before the audition dates.
